The Grove Recovery Center, a leading network of alcohol- and drug-treatment and rehab facilities from Co-founders Denise Thibodeaux and Cody Gautreaux, reached another milestone in 2024.

A brand-new intensive outpatient treatment center (IOP) has opened in Gonzales, Louisiana. The new IOP mirrors functions of the well-established Baton Rouge location, but now in Ascension Parish.

The Grove features more options than ever before to provide a full range of care to the estimated 230,000 Louisianans still using illicit drugs and 459,000 who are struggling with a diagnosable alcohol-use disorder.

“I’m thrilled to see our new facility open in Ascension Parish, where I grew up,” Denise said. “We are filling a need in this area to families that need help for their loved ones who are struggling with addiction.”

The Grove also celebrated its three-year anniversary in 2024 for the opening of their detox and residential treatment facility located in Sorrento, Louisiana. The nearby Gonzales-based IOP location serves as a pipeline for residential patients who are ready to take the next step of recovery in the area.

For those unfamiliar with IOP treatment, The Grove explains their program in “phases.” Phase one is the detox and residential care program, which lasts 30 days on average for a patient who needs desperate residential care from the disease of addiction.

An IOP group typically meets three times a week. Counselors are available to help guide them through the daily pitfalls of early recovery. Clients will also be exposed to a wide array of topics regarding their disease in IOP.

The IOP teaches life skills and coping mechanisms to enhance early recovery and lay down the tools to FREEDOM from active addiction.

“After an addict leaves treatment, they are in a vulnerable state that requires more personal care and attention towards their healing,” Denise said.

The IOP program, for many patients, aligns with the “sober living” phase of recovery. This second phase provides patients with a safe place to reside during this part of their recovery. The second phase of treatment lasts for three months on average.

“Our IOP lasts about 12 weeks,” Denise said. “It includes further therapy and healing, but they get to go home at this point in the process. Many choose to stay in sober living during this time because it holds them accountable in early sobriety.”

The newest facility from The Grove opened in Gonzales in the fall of 2024.
